Written Sundays

Hello My Lovely Readers, and welcome to the first post of Written Sundays. I was going to post The Article today but since Storyteller is away I thought I'd wait. So we'll begin with...

                                                                          November 18, 2012
                                                                                  The Wreck

 Sunday Morning 8:30 AM

I woke up at 6: 30 and washed my hair a pretty ordinary beginning to what I suspected to be a normal Sunday but I was soon to realize it would be anything but normal or at least that’s what I would say if my life was a book. I ate breakfast and reached for my note pad and pencil and began jotting words down
“Hey Ari” “Hey dad” I whispered absently “how are you this morning” “good” he sighed “that’s good” I looked up “something bothering you dad?” “No not really just tired I suppose” I smiled went over to the counter and grabbed a mug filling it to the brim with steaming hot coffee “Here maybe this’ll wake you up” he took the mug gratefully
“Awi, Awi!” I turned my head to see my little sister Rosy running up to me glowing as bright as a candle “Hey there little sis” “Awi” she giggled “My, my why haven’t you put on your Sunday clothes yet?”
“Mommy said to ask you to” she jumped up into my lap looking into my eyes expectantly
“Well then what did you want to wear princess?” she grabbed my hand and led me to her room. Now I… Oh, no we’re late!

Sunday Afternoon 2:15 PM

Well I’m back again Church was good as always and Rosy sat on my lap the whole time listening intently. Afterwards she gave a summary of the sermon in her own little girl way she gave very good summaries for her age too. We went to McDonalds for Lunch and later dad said we’d never do it again
“All that fake meat’ll rot your innards” he stated seriously
“No daddy I like it.” Rosy was bouncing around in her seat. “Wanna see my Toy Awi?” She thrust a Dora doll on a plastic platform into my hands “She’s lovely” I handed the toy back. When we got home I snagged the lap top and started typing out on my story “Adventures of a Bookworm” but suddenly there was a screech followed by a loud bang from outside our apartment window I rushed over and looked out “Dad!” I screamed. “There’s been a wreck out there!” Dad ran out of the apartment and told me to stay inside. And now here I am I just had to write this all out I’m really worried about the person out there.

Sunday Evening 8:45 PM
The person out there in the wreck was Mrs. Winston thankfully she wasn’t hurt to bad and the man in the other car (I think his name was Carl Ernest) was okay too. Apparently Mr. Ernest had been checking his texts and didn’t see the red light and passing it he looked up and noticed Mrs. Winstons car a little to late and swerved to avoid hitting her clipping the left fender he’s paying to have it fixed. I need to get off now and get to bed thanks for reading :)

Sincerely
Ariella Corden

Red Poka Dots

Greetings Readers! This is a post for those of you who liked my 50's dress in the last post :)

 My Red Poka Dot Dress.

The Picture that inspired me (I didn't like the background but I just love that dress!)

most likely to be the top part of the dress. My older sis says she likes mine better. Anyways I still want to own one of these but for now my drawing will console me and who knows maybe one day I'll run into my own Red Poka Dot Dress.

Picture/Post week Post #3

Dear Readers,
Here's another two drawings for picture/post week. The first is pretty self explanatory I designed it carefully thinking out how I'd wear it and the kind of shoes I'd wear with it. The second would be my fifties dress and I didn't quite design it myself you see I saw a skirt part of this dress once and ever since then I've want to own a dress like that of course I don't but at least I finally attempted to draw it and  now which do your prefer 40's or 50's? Oh, yes and one more thing I'm havings a 50/40's chapter writing contest starting 12/4/12 and ending 12/27/12 I hope you enter :) also I'd like to ask what you participants would like for awards. Thanks for reading.

It's Been Forever

Dear readers, I'm so sorry I kept you waiting so long for this next part I've decided to post Cathrine Weatherbane chapters as they come so that I don't feel so pinned down. Here it is the long awaited chapter..

                                                                                      Chapter 3
                                                                      Meetings, Stories, and Riddles
“Catty, I’d like you to meet a few new acquaintances of mine.” She gestured for two girls to come out. “This, my dear, is Miss Ariella Svane.” Ariella had dark brown curly hair and very adventurous looking blackish/brownish eyes that told that there was something more to her that separated her from being like the dull village people whose complexion she shared. “Ariella, this is Cathrine Weatherbane, my great niece” Aunt Prune smiled as if laughing at her own joke.

 “A pleasure to meet you”

Prune beamed, “such wonderful manners for a farm girl wonderful! Wonderful!” I smiled weakly. Suddenly the other girl in the back started reciting…

Cathrine Weatherbane,
Ariella Svane,
They both be agile of foot,
And both are of brave name.

“Huh?” I asked.

“Is it not wonderful I just thought of it now,” she grinned. “Please tell me you thought so too.”

“Lissie, how many times must I tell you!? Don’t speak before I introduce you,” my aunt Prune scolded. “Goodness you’d think Ariella came from royalty and you came from a farm.” Ariella blushed and Lissie frowned.

 “Lissie comes from royalty?”

“Yes she does. Cathrine, this is Lissie Swan.”

“Pleasure to meet you” Lissie curtsied beautifully. “And where I come from everyone recites, writes, and sings poetry, but mum say’s I must be the best. You agree yes?” I didn’t know how to answer so I kept the silence.

“Lissie comes from the same kingdom as you I believe,” aunt Prune stated.

“Really and what’s it called?” I asked.

“Perlusha,” Lissie piped. “It’s a wonderful kingdom except we have no king,” she sighed, as if that was the only thing keeping her life from being perfect.

“Lissie! If you can’t hold your tongue I’ll send you away!” Lissie quieted. “Yes Lissie comes from Perlusha but she was kidnapped and brought here and well… well I think maybe telling you about your parents or at least what I know of them would be best to discuss first before I lay out my intentions to you.”

“Please,” I replied eagerly. Aunt Prune smiled.

“Let me see, Anastasia was born in Perlusha to my sister Daria and her husband Markus who’d set up house in the upper class area of a little town called Fairce. She grew up to be very pretty or so I am told. You see I’d been abroad.” She tried to suppress a giggle. “Remember I’m the distant aunt.”

“Yes, yes please continue,” I prodded. “At age six they got her a Nanny,” aunt Prune began again. “She didn’t really need one mind you, but they got her one out of kindness because this woman had just lost her husband and had no means of supporting herself. Her name was Amelia Gerome,”

“you mean my Amelia?”

“Yes the Amelia taking care of you. Which reminds me, does she know you’re here?”

“No.”

“But surely you wouldn’t…”

“Oh please ,I’ll explain things later just go on with the story.”

“Fine, fine,” aunt Prune murmured. “Anyways Amelia took good care of your mother and came to love her like a daughter and Anastasia regarded her as a second mother… Now lets see, they didn’t tell me anything for a long time after that but then I got news that she’d married a man she met in the forest. I suppose he must’ve been a hunter. And then she had you and brought you to me. She said she and Alexander were in danger and you would be too if they couldn’t find a place to hide you. They said it was to dangerous to take you, you being so young. I mentioned Amelia and they asked if I would take you to her along with a present she was to give you when you got older. It was a…a locket. Yes, I believe that’s right. Also if you ever came here I was to give you a message,”

 “I…I have a locket.”
“You do? May I see it?’ I unclasped it and handed it to her. “Yes this was hers.”
“can...can I hear the message?”

“Of course my child, listen carefully:

In Purlusha there is a place,
A place where answers are found,
Go to the forest my darling dear,
And there you must look in the ground.

The forests name you know it well,
Though never to you was it told,
Another clue shall help you now,
Though I must admit it is cold.

“You see, there was no clue? And where in the forest are you supposed to look?”

 “I don’t know,” I admitted sadly.

“Maybe you should sleep on it.”

“Yes I think you’re right,” I whispered regretfully, and walked in the direction she had pointed. But suddenly, I turned and exclaimed “I’ve got it!”

Poems

Dear Readers, as I've neglected to write poems of late I shall write some now.

Towering Tree's
Tree's stretching to skies
Majestic in its towering beauty
I tremble as I look up high
And cannot hide a contented sigh

Look at the amazing world around us
Could we have crafted something so fine
Nay tis not so, for we are weak powerless so thus
The wonderful creator is revealed to us.

Fall
Fall a time of crisp air
A time for autumn leaves
A time to sing songs sweet and fair
A time when summer and winter weaves.

Fall a time for cider and cinnamon pie
A time for strolls never to be bored
A time when sunsets are nigh
A time to give thanks to the Lord.

My idea of a perfect picnic

 Dear Readers,
This is the post where I describe how to have the best picnic ever in a poetic book worm kinda way :)

Well me and my favorite sisters ever went down to my grandfathers old farm Saturday for what we politely called a picnic.

It wasn't a food based picnic that's for sure and we didn't even have basket we only had snacks but here's how to have the perfectly planned picnic...

Step 1
Pick your Destination
first you'll need to figure out where you're going to do it your backyard, the beach, a field, the best place is always an open space check the weather ahead of time to make sure that the place you're having your picnic at won't be like 20 degree's with breezes so cold it's like biting ice!

Step 2
Pick your stuff
Find a lovely blanket to lay your food on (ours was a floral imprint) if you're having your picnic in a field like the one above I'd suggest two blankets a think wooly one for below and a thin one for above.
Now decide what you'll keep your feast in a basket or a backpack (we used a backpack best for field picnics but it you're having a larger meal I'd suggest both)

Step 3
Pick out your Feast
Prepare your favorite easy sandwich (I like ham with real mayonnaise and fresh lettuce)
Then a beverage (We had Snapple Peach Green Tea but you could have lemonade, sweet tea, or whatever you prefer) Fruit is essential but crackers and cheese are a good substitute :)

 Step 4
Plan your Activities
Now you'll need to keep your guests entertained you could play games, or write or whatever you think they would like (we chatted and read books to each other)

And there you have it a poetic practical picnic. Please tell me if you liked this :) and if you'd like to know how to have the perfect tea click on this link http://connieistherubberbootgirl.blogspot.com/2012/11/the-perfect-tea.html Storyteller does an excellent job of explaining.
