My Cheery Cherry Tree

Oh, wow, I haven't posted in foreeeeeeeeeeever.
Can you believe that, I mean it's not that I didn't have things to talk about I had an over abundance actually, but I was never on the lappy (in case you didn't know lappy is my nickname for me and Ani's laptop). But hey I have a blog and when you have a blog you sort of have an obligation to post on it, so I'm going to try and be better at posting regularly alright...and commenting on other peoples blogs too...I can't tell you how many times I've had comments I wanted to leave but didn't get around to it, so yeah that too.

Anyways what's up over here...well currently I'm swatting an IRKSOME fly...but now it's gone...YAYA

My apologies, it was just so annoying...um, so yeah back to what's up.
Mostly we've been going to graduations parties but we've also been doing other things,
like me and Ani have been playing badminton, perfect weather where we live, awwww it's just lovely....and very very hot...any very very wet...yay for rain! Our lake has recently started falling and we were scared it would disappear entirely...it has once before and let me tell you it was not a pretty sight...sad time. A sad. Sad. Time. But if we get enough rain maybe we can keep it awhile longer. Oooooookay other than that....we had the day before Memorial Day and yes...Horses were rode :)

Ani and Babe                                                                                                                                    Molly

And than of course there was Memorial day and that was great too.

The lake: earlier and current :)

A little more recently I've been chatting with...THE FLY IS BACK....okay it's gone now, I've been chatting with my cousin Em...she's so awesomely awesome, you guys would love her. We're planning a get together sometime this year hopefully sometime this month or the next.

I've started a summer reading plan with the local library, which I highly look forward too!
I'm planning on going to see How to Your Dragon 2 maybe sometime...not next week since that would be like, the day it comes out..no the week after that I'm sooo excited I put the date on my calendar at the beginning of the year...I just hope it's not a let down, because I already plan on buying it

By the way, who else thinks the trailers gave waaaaaaay to much away?

Let's see what else....can't think of anything so I guess it's time to log out.

Sometimes Titles are best left to the Imagination

In other words I couldn't think of anything because even I don't know what I'm posting today..probably poems...maybe something more...I don't know we'll see what comes I GUESS :)

Here's what I've been doing lately singing...writing...drawing...same as always huh, except I never did tell you guys that I sing  :) yeah I like singing and I like making up songs...but in my opinion I'm just okay hmmm sometimes I wonder...everything these days sounds like I'm bragging ugh I'm not trying too.

Anyways today is the first day of February YAY I love this month :) and it means next month Frozen comes out on DVD I'm sooooo excited!!! Aaaaaand on another random subject me and my sisters are going skiing for the first time ever in our lives soon., we're excited but also nervous so if any of you girls who have been skiing before and have tips please share them, we've already heard a few things but we could always use some more, I'd also like your prayers for it too...Anna's (Storyteller) skiing accident has kind of made me a little on edge about it especially since I've never broken or severely sprained or torn anything in my whole life sooooo...yes prayers for safety would be much appreciated :)

I've also been memorizing Psalms 45 and really enjoying it :D

I apologize for the sloppiness of today's post I'm not quite collected today :\
Thanks for reading

a Niece for Christmas

Merry Christmas Eve Everyone!
By now some of you are probably thinking...yay Christmas it took forever, or maybe you're thinking that came fast.
For me I'm barely conscious of the fact that tomorrow is Christmas since we've beeeeeeen reeeeeeeeeeeeally crazy busy again...thought we were done with home stuff, I was wrong...we had the wood floor put in, a door and piece of wall ripped out and put back in reverse stairs taken out a and moved farther down,  (Long story involving a fridge), No internet for a few days and we still aren't done most likely the house won't be done till sometime late in January of 2014 (we've like up'ed the whole house!) I'm pining for normal...we haven't even decorated yet...we've had our Christmas tree since December first but it's been bare up to this very day....(we don't usually wait so long to decorate but all the remodeling...) I think mom just really wants to get this stuff done because before she was just doing 1 project a year...I had no idea we had so much stuff to be done!

Anyways you want to know what's with my title right? Well my first ever niece was expected on Christmas day....and she was born a week early (exactly a week early, like last Wednesday) Cutest, sweetest, most adorable, baby girl you've ever seen.....however that may just be because she's niece :) I won't be posting any pictures of her because her parents want her to be able to decide that on her own when she's a whooooooooooole lost older...she wouldn't want her whole life on the interenet I'm sure. So on here I'll refer to her as Cuddles because she's so cuddly :) cute baby..sorry new aunt here who's totally crazy about her niece (all of us are)

Soooooo on an unrelated note to kinda  get the feel for the coming Holiday we've been reading Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol" the first few nights I even made egg nog for it!

Here's the recipe if you want to make it

Egg Nog

Servings:
 5

Ingredients
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • Milk (enough to fill up the blender)
  • Nutmeg

First crack your eggs and put them in...than put your sugar, vanilla, and milk.....blend until nice and fluffy....

Serve with nutmeg sprinkled on top :)

Well that's it for now let me send you off with Peppermint Winter by Owl City and have a Merry Christmas!

We recently watched Chitty Bang Bang which is one of my all time favorite movies movies and one I'd hadn't seen since I was 10 and that was sooo long ago *sigh* memories, Me and Liz had fun reminiscing about our favorite parts and were surprised to find that we shared a favorite among the songs, the song being, "Doll on a Music Box" "scene posted below"

You know you have to write when...

Stories keep building up inside your head until their spilling out
Rhymes start popping into your speech unbidden
You start talking to yourself and/or your story characters
Thinking spots become your favorite place

{Anyone else experiencing these symptoms?}

In Which I Randomly Ramble On

I can't say that this is going to be a very organized post...but then I don't always know what I'm going to post when I press the 'new post' icon sometimes I get stuck deciding what to write . If it was just art I could have endless posts but art isn't exactly what you guys like to see everyday on here right? And if...I were to convert The Author's Club into an art blog...would you guys follow?

Anyways back on topic, I....have one weight off my shoulders and that is the contest results for The make a postcard and Book cover contest I had...in the Summer, sorry for being so late on it! And you guys remember the header contest thingy I had going up earlier this year....I'm sorry I had to call that one off do to not to many entries and total extreme busyness, I feel pretty bad about the unreliable way I've been lately I feel pretty bad...The poetry contest....I think I'll have to drop that one off too, I haven't had a single entry for it and I've decided if I don't get at least one by Monday I'm going to pull it off...if you want to enter here's the link ---> http://poetic-meditations.blogspot.com/2013/08/3-year-blog-o-versary-mark-your-books.html

Now I know you guys love the "My Life Posts" and the reason I haven't been posting them as much is because my life has slowed considerably to a rather uninteresting pace that I didn't think it worth writing to you about but...I figure letting you guys know whats been going on down here will clear up a bit of why I haven't been posting so much.

So here it is...We've been so busy with painting, and all those other Home fixing good stuff that I haven't gotten out as much and we still have the whole upstairs to finish painting plus we have to paint the outside of the house (it's sorely in need of it!) and not getting out means not so inspired and while I have been on the computer quite often and made several attempts to post something I never feel like it's....well inspired, it felt dry and uncreative and I deleted at least 40% of the ones I started and another 50% was nothing at all so that leaves the 10% which was the stuff that actually made on my blog.
Hmm not quite interesting is it?
Well now you're probably wondering why I never said anything about my vacations...truth is once they were over...I was so mentally and physically exhausted that I never got around to putting the pictures on the computer or taking the time to post about it and by the time I was back to my usual, perky writing self it was long past the time we'd been gone and the vacation was no longer fresh in my mind.

The one you guys know most about took place in gorgeous South Dakota! I haven't been there in ages since it's such a long time to get there, we hiked up Mount Harney (Which I promptly dubbed Mt. Hernia before even hiking...because they said it would take three hours...I was both exited and unsure...of what to feel, I mean three hours is a lot of time to be hiking!) My first reaction upon arriving was sheer awe...the gorgeous tall tree's, the hills and mountains, the shimmering lakes! It was breath taking!

(Pictures by Ani)

She took a lot more later on (these are just the first day) but she never got them on the computer.
I believe when we were first driving up threw Custer Park I said, "It's so beautiful I could cry!" and I was just staring out in awe drinking it all in whilst my ears were popping from high altitudes.

Of course we had to see Mt Rushmore and all those other wonderful sites and we tried to do everything we could in the time we had it was fantastic...well except for towards the end of the trip I got sick...sour throat, headache, dizziness, cough, that sort of thing and mom was sick too but we didn't let it get us down...too bad... :) it was fun!

Soooo, we got home, we recovered we got back into routine and two weeks later... *BAM*Church Retreat! And wow was it the warmest and funnest one ever, I got to know some of the people from our church better and work my way ever so slightly a little more out of my shyness, I mean those girls I was with the whole time were so nice and easy to talk to, M was the sweetest and kindest, and Katie, well Katie's awesome! Bella continued to be a wonderful true friend and was there to talk to me when I was by myself, I must say I have some pretty great friends and I thank the Lord for them.

God has really been working in my life lately and thinking about him makes me so happy I could sing, he's constantly there and I feel him in my life, I am learning things I didn't know before, understanding in a way that is so different from before.

So there you go a very long post to make up for the lack of other posts :)

P.S. If you have any suggestions for drawings I'd appreciate it a lot...and if you;d like me to do a commission for you I'd be very happy,  also check out Abilaine's new Art Blog if you haven't already it's full of great drawings! ---> http://artsy-abilaine.blogspot.com/

My letter to the library...and other stuff

Dear Library,
I miss you so much has it really been a full four weeks since I last walked through your doors to pick up some random book that may or may not be amazing...it has! My book loving side to me is caving with longing to grasp unfamiliar, exciting, and adventurous pages! But...I'll have to wait a little longer I'm afraid and in the meantime you'd better fill up with some more books because I'm pretty sure I'll soon have read all your good ones.....and that's another thing; why don't you have more good books? It seems like all the books I want to read are in the library hours away and YOU have the ones I don't care about...but well yes. Anyways I guess that's all see you soon as I can :D
                                                                                                                                               Yours Truly
                                                                                                                                                        Sarah

Yeah I guess that was kind of random and I didn't really need to write it but it's been on my mind and so I just took it...and posted it. Aaaaanyways, I've got some more goodies for you!
Two art pieces and the next part of me and Brittney's story yay :D

If you guys liked my previous Marin sketches than you'll probably enjoy these.

Soooo which do you like better? Me, I can't decide but then I'm the artist and an artist has a special affection for all her pieces...except for the mess ups!

Now the story....

Janna
By: Brittney

“Hosea?” I called out the back of our cottage, “Are you done yet?”
I saw him stick his head through the door, “Almost,” He said and then after a pause he asked, “I still don’t understand why me and my friends are doing this for you!”
“ Well that’s a silly question,” I said with a cheesy smile and then I walked up to him and gave him a hug before he could back up, “You’re helping me because you’re my sweet little brother.”
I rubbed his head with my knuckles.
He winced and then awkwardly patted me on the back, “Ya, I guess that’s the reason.”
I just smiled at him sweetly.
“We’re done Janna,” I heard a rough voice from outside the door. I swung open the door to see all of Hosea’s friends dressed up in armor. I tried to stifle a giggle at how goofy they looked. Hosea’s friend Trevor was a short stocky fellow and his armor was too long and too tight on him. Gregory his other friend was tall but way too skinny and he had to tie his belt very tight to keep the armor from falling off. Firiel, Hosea’s other friend seemed to fit the suit pretty well but his sandy blond hair fell over his eyes in a very unprofessional way. Hosea’s suit of armor fit him perfectly and his neatly trimmed hair and green eyes looked very handsome. I smiled at the thought of him maybe one day being a knight, but I knew well enough that knights were only nobles.
“Well…” I said after looking them over, “You’re an awkward group that’s for sure…. But I think you’ll be able to manage.”
I gave them a smile for encouragement.
“Now are you ready?” I asked.
They all nodded their heads uneasily.
“Don’t worry you’ll be fine,” I reassured them.
“Now let’s go meet Jasper with the carriage and then we will go pick up the princess! Remember now we must convince the king you guys are real guards. So keep your chins up, walk straight, and mind your manners!”
“ Let’s go!” I hollered. We all started off marching towards the stables.

This shall be interesting…

Porsha
By: Me

It was a little unsettling when I saw the group of sorry looking boys before me and I thought, “How are we ever going to convince the king that these are royal guards.” But either the King was blind or very tired because he went with it and within the space of ten minutes the coach was filled and I was racing off towards a week of perfect freedom!

Janna laid back in her seat and smiled. “This is excellent, I knew with our brilliance we would figure something out.”

I sighed and glanced out the window as I often did when I was in a carriage. “Yes I know…it’s just…I can’t believe we…did it. No mistakes no hitches it seems way to good to be true.”  Janna rolled her eyes and leaned back.

“Don’t be so paranoid first you were worries that something would happen and now you’re worried because something didn’t; maybe sometimes things just go your way without trouble.”

I fiddled with my dress a bit before replying. “…maybe, but then maybe something will go wrong…later.”

“You worry too much, don’t worry things will be fine you’ll see. You can just be Scarlet Wilcox for now forget you’re a princess and just enjoy yourself.”

I sighed I knew only to well how hard that was going to be considering whenever my dreams came the closest I would drift farther away into my worry, such is the way of paranoid me.

I was quite relieved when we finally reached Janna’s house and her friend…Jasper handed me out. “Don’t let Janna get you into trouble.” He says as he gets back into the drivers seat

“What me?” She replied innocently putting on a smile.

“You do have a habit of getting yourself and others into sticky situations.”

“What…I do not!”

“Um…..this is a very nice conversation and all but you seem to be attracting attention.”

“Yes…and I suppose I do need to be going. Ado princ…uh I mean Scarlet.” And with that he tipped his hat and road off leaving me once more to my ponderings of what could possibly lay ahead…still little knowing the danger I was soon to encounter…

Thanks for reading!

:D I'm back again!

I was going to do a tag post but I changed my mind since I thought you'd like a different kind of post, like a treat of a post to make up for the lack of posts I've had on here (which was unavoidable I assure you)

So here's three poems with the promise that I'll have more interesting stuff later if the internet is still accessible.

 Sunny Days
My favorite days are sunny days
Because those days are hot
And when they are I'm never cold
 Except when I am not.
~Sarah.P.G

Dream, Dream
Dream, dream little dove
I know that you are tired
You've traveled such a long way
And done what you conspired.
~Sarah.P.G

Pop the Top
I have often popped the top
When my tea boiled over
Mum would Tsk and I would cry
When I burnt the clover.
~Sarah.P.G

Okay that's all please comment and tell me which one you liked best oh, and one more thing, if I had a
"write your own poetry" contest would any of you enter?

Um....that's randon

I drempt I'd create
A well loved story
But my dog, she ate
My dreams and my glory

You see she
Didn't like that
It distracted me
And I considered getting a cat

My dog, she ate my homework one day,
And then she chewed my laptop
I can only growl and say
I'd rather have it chewed then not

My dog, she smiles
As if she mocks
And all the whiles
She's stealing my socks

Now this is all in good fun oh,
it's a jest
I've never met a dog quite so
Glutenous and Grotesque
~PG

Sorry random thing...just needed to write something different for a change lol.
See ya.

A Tale to a Song ~ The Lad and the Lass

A minstrel strolls merrily down the dusty path humming a forgotten song, he stops seeing a fellow minstrel a lovely maiden with flowing black hair, she holds a harp in one hand and a flute in the other. She nods recognizing one of the same trade he nods back. They fall into step and chat awhile then they stop having agreed to play a duet she lays down her flute and grasps her harp and the other minstrel in turn pulls out his lute from it place and they begin to sing...

The Lad and the Lass
Once Upon a time long ago
In a land all covered with snow
There lives a lad and a lass
Who were destined to change the past

Years went by and time did pass
Still nothing became of the lad and the lass
Break the rock stop the clock
The Lad and the Lass would change the past

Still more time flew
But change would still come fresh, anew
For in second the clock would halt
And the memories of the present would lock in the valt

The Lad and the Lass were to change the past
In moments soon and the change would last
Though they knew not what they're acts would do
What will happen, the answer is up to you.

The song ends and the maiden minstrel laughs a tinkling laugh. She curtsies to him and he bows politely to her. She asks him what did happen and the lad minstrel whispers in her ear his answer she laughs again and they shake hands and once again part ways.

So what do you think happened?

Random Questions (Please Read and Comment)

Okay so today since I'm just feeling like it I'm going to do a random post full of randomness questions because I'm weird like and I think it's something easy to write when all creativity has left you and also I think you may inspire some more creativity in me.

For starters I've been reading a lot lately and I was thinking about making of list of things I want to read and the things I have read starting say last week and anyways I was thinking maybe a few of you would have some great books to recommend if you could leave an answer in comments I'd greatly appreciate it.

Second, I've been meaning to have a drawing every morning thing but I just haven't been having any inspirations I thought maybe if any of you have any ideas for like drawings and such, say a picture of a girl in a french restaurant, a picture of Ariella Corden, stuff like that if you girls have any idea's or art requests that would also be greatly appreciated and if you do please leave them in comments.

Now if at anytime I so choose to have another chapter writing contest what kind should it be? Should I give a name and plot or leave that to you, should I assign a genre or a theme? Leave your answer also in comments.

Thank you so much for reading this and if you leave a comment thanks again!

Dreamyness Continued

Today I feel almost as dreamy as yesterday only I suppose in a different way; today I would very much like to be in a place like the picture above with a lovely tree swing...but I don't know any places like this in the middle of the snow melty muddy ground that is the weather right now, aw well I'll be able to do all kinds of things like that with my sisters come spring maybe we'll even try for another picnic.

More news for today we've got two new polls at the bottom of the blog for you to vote in I highly recommend you to vote in the new design look poll as I need to know very soon thanks you.
On other topics we've got... well nothing I suppose it slipped my mind.
